Tilicho
Lake
Fixed Departure - Nepal
|
 |
Tilicho
lake (4,949m).
This lake is considered as one of the highest lakes in
the world, and situated in northern part of Mt.
Annapurna Range of Manang district of west Nepal. Trek
to Tilicho is popular among the trekkers seeking for
high altitude trekking.
A well-known
high altitude lake for its natural beauty as well as
religious point of view.
But
rarely visited by
trekkers
due to the wilderness nature
of the region.
Comparing Round Mt.
Annapurna trekking course, this trekking is much harder
and challenging. The main difficult part is the
Mesokhando Pass which situated between the Manang and
Kaligandaki valley. There are two high passes between
the Tilicho Lake and Jomsom in Kaligandaki valley.
The high passes are Mesokhando Pass and Tilicho North
Pass. These high passes are more often covered by snow than the higher Thorong
Pass of the Round Mt. Annapurna route.
