Sikkim
is a
mountainous country and land of monumental. The
mountains form a part of long and mighty Himalaya.
Kanchenjunga, the third highest peak in the world,
crowns the top with its rugged outline. Sikkim, state of
India, shares her borders with Tibet to the north,
Bhutan to the east, Nepal to the west and the state of
West Bengal to the south. The area of Sikkim is 7,300
square km, measuring approximately 100 kms from north to
south and 60 kms from east to west. Its elevation ranges
from 244 m. to over 8540 m. above sea level. The flora
and fauna naturally covers a wide spectrum as nowhere
else in the world. In such a small area on can find 4000
varieties of flowering plants, orchids (some 600
varieties) and rhododendrons. Naturalists have
catalogued over 550 species of birds and over 600
species of butterflies. Animals to be found are
Himalayan bear, musk & barking deer, red panda and the
blue sheep. The people of Sikkim are of three distinct
heritages: The Lepchas, Bhutia and the Nepalese.
Sikkimese by nature are simple, polite and non
aggressive people with a natural gaiety. |

Scheduled itinerary:

Day
01.
|
Arrival in Kathmandu: transfer to hotel for
check in and briefing on the trip. An
introductory sightseeing trip to downtown
Kathmandu or explore around hotel depending on
your flight arrival. |

Day 02.
|
Kathmandu: guided
sightseeing covering all the major sightseeing
points in and around Kathmandu, covering the
prominent landmarks such as: Soyambhunath Stupa,
Boudhanath Stupa, Patan, Kumari (the living
goddess) Temple and Durbar Square Kathmandu. |
Day 03.
|
Kathmandu to
Darjeeling (India). After breakfast, transfer to
Kathmandu Airport for flight to Bhadrapur.
Arrive Bhadrapur Airport and then transfer to
Bagdogra lunch. After lunch proceed to
Darjeeling 5-6 hrs drive with short tea break at
Kurseong. Check in hotel.

Day 04.

Darjeeling: Full
day sightseeing. Visit Ghoom Monastery, Dali
Monastery, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute,
Happy Valley Tea Garden. Return to hotel. |
Day
05.

Darjeeling to
Gangtok (Sikkim, India): Transfer to Gangtok
about 106 kms 4-5 hrs drive enterning Sikkim
through Rongpo check post. Afternoon at leisure.
Check in hotel in Gangtok. |

Day 06.

Gangtok: Full day
sightseeing. Visit Rumtek Monastery, Research
Institute of Tibetology, Do-Drul Chorten, After
lunch visit Cottage Industry and Enchey
Monastery.

Day 07.
|
Gangtok to Pelling:
Transfer to Pelling 120 kms about 6 hrs drive.
On the way visit Temi Tea Garden, Kundrakling
Monastery and Tashiding Monastery. Check in
hotel. |

Day 08. |
Pelling: Full day
sightseeing. Visit Pemayangtse Monastery,
Sangacholling Monastery and Khechupalri Lake.

Day 09.

Pelling to
Kalimpong (India): Transfer to Kalimpong about
105 kms 4 hrs drive + sightseeing – visit
Sandokpalri Monastery and explore the market.

Kalimpong to
Bhadrapur (Nepal): Transfer to Bhadrapur Airport
about 5 hrs drive and take flight to Kathmandu.
Departure time: 14:15 by Yeti Air. Check in

Kathmandu: after
breakfast, visit Pashupatinath and Bhaktapur.
Return to hotel for refreshment. Evening,
sightseeing and shopping around downtown
