Ghandruk and Ghorepani

This trekking route offers panoramic view of mountains within a short span of timeframe. It takes couple of days from Pokhara to reach Ghorepani and Ghandruk, which is the native homeland of world famous Gurkha Soldiers as well as known for the great views including the both famous mountains Mt. Annapurna and Mt. Dhaulagiri as well as other prominent snow-capped peaks in the Western Development Region of Nepal. For a panoramic view of northern mountains, Poonhill (3210m) which is about an hour’s climb away from Ghorepani Pass above Ghorepani Village also offers best view of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Tukchey Peak in the northwest and Mt. Annapurna and Mt. Nilgiri in the northeast.The Poonhill also offers far-sighted aerial view of Kaligandakin Valley (former main trading route between Nepal and Tibet via Mustang) which is considered as world’s deepest gorge between Mt. Dhaulagiri and Mt. Annapurna range and one of the popular trekking spots in Nepal.


Itinerary & Highlight

Day 01. Arrival in Kathmandu:
Transfer to hotel for check in and briefing on the trip. An introductory sightseeing trip to downtown Kathmandu or explore around hotel depending on your flight arrival.

Day 02. Kathmandu:
Guided sightseeing covering all the major sightseeing points in and around Kathmandu, covering the prominent landmarks such as: Soyambhunath Stupa, Boudhanath Stupa, Kumari (the living goddess) Temple and Durbar Square Kathmandu.

Day 03. Kathmandu to Pokhara (915m):
After breakfast, drive (5 to 6 hours) to Pokhara by tourist standard bus. Lunch will be served at Kurintar Bazar or transfer to domestic terminal for flight (35minutes) to Pokhara as per option. Check in hotel. Visit International Mountain Museum Pokhara. Explore around Lakeside in the evening.

Day 04. Pokhara to Nayapul and Ghandruk:
About 2 hours drive to Nayapul and 3 to 4 hours trek to Ghandruk village situated on the lap of Mt. Annapurna South. Enjoy the sunset view of Mt. Fishtail (Machhapuchare) in the evening. This village is one of the native homelands of famous Gurkha soldiers

Day 05. Ghandruk to Tadapani:
Gradual uphill trek to Tadapani, the best place to admire Mt. Annapurna South. Enjoy the panoramic and sunset views of Mt. Annapurna South in the evening.

Day 06. Tadapani to Ghorepani:
Trek through a beautiful forest and ridge, we arrive Ghorepani Pass in the evening. The views are Mt. Dhaulagiri, Tukchey Peak, Mt. Nilgiri, Mt. Annapurna South as well as Kaligandaki Vallley, the famous trading route to Tibet. In ancient time, the great Japanese monk Kawaguchi used the Kaligandaki route to visit Tibet.

Day 07. Ghorepani to Pun Hill, to Ghorepani and Trikedunga:
An early morning excursion to Poon Hill (Punhill) for the panoramic and best sunrise views of Mt. Dhaulgiri, Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Nilgiri, Tukchey peak as well as Kaligandaki Valley. Return to Ghorepani for breakfast and rest. After lunch, follow the downhill trek to Trikedunga Village for overnight accommodation.

Day 08. Trikedunga to Nayapul and Pokhara:
Trek to Nayapul, then drive to Pokhara. Check in hotel in Pokhara and rest.

Day 09. Pokhara to Kathmandu:
After breakfast, Flight or drive to Kathmandu. Arrive Kathmandu in the afternoon. Check in hotel in Kathmandu and rest. Evening, sightseeing and shopping around downtown Kathmandu and Thamel Street at own. Farewell dinner will be served at typical Nepalese Restaurant with cultural show.

Day 10. Transfer to airport:
After breakfast, transfer to airport. Departure from Kathmandu or make extension as per your time-frame.

Accommodation Plan:
– Hotel accommodation for 4 nights in Kathmandu on twin-sharing basis.
– Hotel accommodation for 2 nights in Pokhara on twin-sharing basis.
– Local lodge during the trekking period based on twin sharing or dormitory.

Meal Plan:
– Breakfast at hotel in Kathmandu and Pokhara.
– Meals (including bed tea/coffee, breakfast, lunch, evening tea/coffee and dinner) during the trekking.

Mode of Transportation:
– Guided city sightseeing with private vehicle in an around Kathmandu and Pokhara as per the itinerary.
– Tourist bus: Kathmandu/Pokhara/Kathmandu.
– Airport pickup and drop upon your arrival in Kathmandu.
– Ground transfers by private vehicle: Pokhara/Nayapul (trekking starting and ending point), Phedi/Pokhara.
