Before entering into Sikkim, we visit Darjeeling ” the “Queen of Hill” for warmup. Darjeeling has to offer the panoramic views of Mt. Kanchenjung, the third highest peak in the world as well as beautiful tea plantations of the legendary “Darjeeling Tea”. Enjoy the landscape having full greenery of surrounding tea gardens in Darjeeling. It is suggestible to have a short ride on the famous Toy Train which is listed in World Heritage. Sikkim is a mountainous country and land of monumental. The mountains form a part of long and mighty Himalaya. Kanchenjunga, the third highest peak in the world, crowns the top with its rugged outline. Sikkim, state of India, shares her borders with Tibet to the north, Bhutan to the east, Nepal to the west and the state of West Bengal to the south. The area of Sikkim is 7,300 square km, measuring approximately 100 kms from north to south and 60 kms from east to west. Its elevation ranges from 244 m. to over 8540 m. above sea level. The flora and fauna naturally covers a wide spectrum as nowhere else in the world. In such a small area on can find 4000 varieties of flowering plants, orchids (some 600 varieties) and rhododendrons. Naturalists have cataloged over 550 species of birds and over 600 species of butterflies. Animals to be found are Himalayan bear, musk & barking deer, red panda and the blue sheep. The people of Sikkim are of three distinct heritages: The Lepchas, Bhutia and the Nepalese. Sikkimese by nature are simple, polite and non-aggressive people with a natural gaiety.
Itinerary & Highlight
Day 01. Bagdogra Airport (near Silguri India) or Bhadrapur Airiport (Nepal) to Darjeeling:
Fly in Bagdogra Airport or Bhadrapur Airport, the drive (about 4hours) to Darjeeling. Check in hotel. Rest.
Day 02. Explore in and around Darjeeling:
Early morning proceed to the Tiger Hills to view sunrise enjoying the panoramic view of the third highest peak of the world, Mt.Kanchandzonga and its range. Return to hotel for breakfast and visit Ghoom riding on Toy Train. Afterwards, return to hotel for lunch. Sightseeing trip in the afternoon and evening covering the entire city of Darjeeling. Return to hotel for dinner.
Day 03. Darjeeling to Pelling:
The day would begin with breakfast at the hotel in Darjeeling followed by a drive to Pelling. Afternoon, visitPemayangste Monastery and Rabdantse Ruins (Second Capital of Sikkim). Check in hotel. Hotel Pemaling Residency for dinner and overnight accommodation.
Day 04. Pelling to Yuksam:
After breakfast at the hotel, you would take a walking expedition to Sango-Choling Monastery. Later come back to hotel for the lunch, after Lunch proceed to the Yuksam (First capital of Sikkim), en-route you will be taking to Khecheopalri lake. Check in to hotel Red Palace for dinner and overnight accommodation. Evening, walk around the Yuksam village. Over Night at Yuksam.
Day 05: Yuksam:
After Breakfast, proceed to small and beautiful village of Yuksam to spend a day. Visit, NorbugangChorten (Coronation Throne, from where history of Sikkim Kingdom began), Kathok Lake, Dubdi Monastrey.Over Night at Yuksam.
Day 06. Yuksam to Gangtok:
Drive from Yuksam to Gangtok takes approximately 5 hrs, through Numerous Sikkimse Villages, landscape surrounded by mountains, Hills, Flamboyant waterfalls, Great valley ,Tashiding Monastery and Bon Monastery. Gangtok is the Capital of Sikkim, where many migrant people were settled for the different lively hood, Check in to hotel Netuk House for dinner and overnight accommodation. Evening walk around the Beautiful M.G.Market.
Day 07: Explore Gangtok:
After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, entire day would be spent on a tour of Gangtok city which would include an excursion to Rumtek Monastery, Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, Enchey Monastery, Handi Crafts Handlooms,Flower Exhibition, DurdulChorten. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight accommodation.
Day 08. Gangtok to Bagdogra Airport:
Drive to Bagdogra Airport (India) or Bhadrapur Airport from Gangtok. Depature from India.
-Depending on the trekking members.
