Nagarkot. This
hill resort is situated
northeast of Kathmandu valley (2175 meters) and an
important starting points for short treks to
Changu Narayan Temple, Sankhu, Dhulikhel and
Melamche Bazar. Nagarkot is situated about
10 kilometers from Bhaktapur town and just an hour's
drive from Kathmandu. It has been a weekend spot for
mountain viewers in quite and comfort, as well as an
ideal hill side spot for local picnic and
nature and dating lovers. The sunrise
and sunset from this hill resort present you the
breathtaking view (subject to weather condition) of
the Himalayan ranging from Dhaulagiri (8167 meters)
in the west to the Mt. Everest (8848 meters) in the
east, including Mt. Langtang (7246 meters) and Mt.
Ganesh (7406 meters). |

Suggested itinerary
Day 1. Kathmandu - Nagarkot. Drive to
Nagarkot. Check in hotel and local
sightseeing and enjoy the sunset view in the
evening. / Day 2. Nagarkot -
Kathmandu. After breakfast, check out from
hotel, then trek (2 hours) to Changu Narayan
Temple (Champakpur). Drive back to Kathmandu
with a sightseeing break at Bhaktapur.

1. About 3 to 4 hours downhill trek to Sankhu on a beautiful ridge. Arrive the
ancient town of Sankhu, then drive to
Kathmandu via Boudhanath Temple. 2.
Direct trek (3 to 4 hours) to Dhulikhel and
drive to Kathmandu or spend a night at
Dhulikhel. 3. For more adventure
lovers, downhill trek (4 to 5 hours) to Melamche
Bazar on the way to Helambu, then drive to
Kathmandu or make overnight extension at
Dhulikhel. |
